Artistic Angst

Morning In All It's Glory

The Silence of Death

I've mentioned previously that I have a "thing" about creating crucifixion scene artwork and a general love of religious iconography. Well, here are a couple of paintings that I have recently completed and may/may not enter into some local competition exhibtions. I'm not going to commit myself to saying whether I will or not because I shall be quite disappointed if they're not accepted for exhibition! The first time I entered the Portsmouth Open exhibition all of my paintings were rejected (the triptych of abstracts i've previously blogged pictures of). The next time I had a go, i tried something very different, an illustrative painting of the little Red Riding Hood story and was successful in getting it exhibited - but no Sale out of it. Ho Hum.... so, I hope the third time's a charm.

If you're wondering about the painting titles - they're not confirmed either - they actually came from the paint tubes! WHSmith have a very quirky way of naming their paint colours. The first refers to the colour Violet and the second, Mars Black. I rather liked their definitions.
